A new SKA band is born: The Jackanapes.

The Jackanapes originated from the ska band Wisehead, which performed for over seven years. Highlights were two shows at Paradiso Amsterdam, several gigs in Germany, Belgium and Poland and the various live performances on Dutch regional television and national radio stations. Together with a new impressive singer and the return Wisehead’s drummer from the first hour, The Jackanapes are ready to skank.

Inspired by bands like Laurel Aitken, The Slackers and Bob Marley in his early years, the band plays authentic, energetic ska with a mature, raw sound. In November 2009 the song "Figure It Out" has been released on the compilation CD "Skannibal Party Vol. 9" of Mad Butcher Records. Recently the band released their newest song "The Better Part" on their website. More recordings will follow soon and also the band is planning to make a video clip. After the first shows The Jackanapes are filling up their agenda for the fall of 2010 and 2011. We’ll keep you posted!
