Great ska evening at Bibelot [27.03.2010]
Yesterday on 26 March The Jackanapes performed at the et-SKA-tera festival in Bibelot Dordrecht (NL). Allthough our
performance was quite early still a lot of ska people were skanking for about 30 minutes to the ska beats of The Jackanapes.
After the Jackanapes there were performances of De Beatzers (great folk-ska), The Display Team (hard metal-ska), The Bazzooka's
(An amazing combination of the songs of the Dutch band "Van Katoen" and "The Palooka´s") and THE TOASTERS
(no explanation necessary, just great). The Jackanapes would like to thank all the ska people in the audience, the organisation of
et-SKA-tera and Bibelot and in special Mr. Rens Koolen. New gigs will follow soon!
Gig @ Huize Spoorloos was great [14.03.2010]
Yesterday, on 13 March, The Jackanapes played live @ Huize Spoorloos in Emmen. The evening started with fine reggae
tunes of DJ Kahli and MC Jah Three Locks. After the reggae party the authentic ska vibes of The Jackanapes turned
Huize Spoorloos into a big skanking mess. In the last part of the set the local saxophone hero, Mr. Borsboom, joined
The Jackanapes on stage and played several fantastic saxophone solos together with the band. The Jackanapes would like to
thank the great audience in Huize Spoorloos for their great support. Also thanks to the sound crew, Mr. Borsboom and
Jorge Fernandes of Anti-Corpos D.I.Y. See you all next time!
Our next gig will be on 26 March in Bibelot Dordrecht (NL), together with The Toasters!
Gig @ Huize Spoorloos [09.01.2010]
Unfortunately the gig on saturday 9 January at Huize Spoorloos has been cancelled because of the snow and therefore
dangerous situations on the road. But don't you worry, The Jackanapes take their revenge at 13 March 2010.
Details will follow later.

Budel Begaait [25.11.2009]
Last Saturday 21 November The Jackanapes performed on the Budel Begaait festival. Before The Jackanapes went
on stage 2 bands warmed up the audience. 'Forgotten Trouble' started with nice rock covers and God's Monkey
continued with some more and even harder rock. After that the audience was ready for some happy tunes. For about
75 minutes the authentic ska tunes of The Jackanapes ruled the 'Bonte Os' venue in Budel. Also this time the
performance of The Jackanapes was record breaking. Back in 2006 the band (formerly known as Wisehead) broke
the record of ruining the ceiling on the Budel Begaait festival.
This time, in the new venue of the festival, the ceiling was too high, but the visitor number was record breaking.
For The Jackanapes it was another memorable gig in Budel. The Jackanapes would like to thank the organisation of
the Budel Begaait Festival, the sound engineer, 'Forgotten Trouble', 'God's Monkey', Harrold and Ferry from Weert
FM and the fantastic audience. See you later at one of our gigs!
Figure It Out [12.10.2009]
No more crappy live registrations, The Jackanapes are proud to present to you our very first Studio Recording!
After many hours of recording and mixing this cheerful tune, we are pleased enough to share it with the world.
So put on your dancing shoes and skank around, cause this will surely help you out of your winter depression!
Since we've got a taste for it now, more songs will follow this winter. Stay in touch!
Try out show [25.04.2009]
After 2 years of silence yesterday on 24 April 2009 The Jackanapes were back on stage. The band presented
their new sound for the first time in 'Cafe de Harmonie' in Weert. A big audience in a small bar and a high
dosis of authentic ska rhythms were the perfect ingredients for this first ska party of The Jackanapes.
The Jackanapes thank the sound crew (Patrick and Sergio), the bar crew of 'Cafe de Harmonie' and the audience
for their great support. More gigs will follow at the end of this year.
